LANDO ENTERS THE CHAT!

The reigning world champion had been relatively measured about the new regulations compared to Verstappen's outright hostility. That changed this week. After testing his MCL40 at the Nurburgring, Norris described the new regulations as "frustrating," saying: "Last year we had loads of downforce, cars that really felt like they were on rails when we got them dialled in and what felt like never-ending speed, however when you lost grip, that was it."

When even the man who won the title last year is calling the new cars frustrating, the FIA's urgency to fix things before Miami makes complete sense. Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali has confirmed that changes to the 2026 regulations will arrive as early as Miami, telling Sky Italia: "We have an obligation to listen to our drivers, and the dialogue is bearing fruit. We will certainly see changes in Miami, they will be finalised next week."

Tomorrow's April 20 vote is the decisive moment. Whatever is agreed gets ratified and implemented at Miami on May 1 - 3. The sport is being rewritten in real time.
