TO WATCH THIS WEEK…

The FIA Sporting Regulations meeting is tomorrow, April 15. The technical follow-up is April 16. The big vote is April 20. Any changes approved get implemented at Miami, which is May 1-3. Three weeks out and the entire shape of this season is still being decided in meeting rooms.
For context: 2026 launched with the biggest regulation overhaul in F1 history, a new hybrid engine splitting power equally between combustion and electricity. In practice, drivers have been forced to slow down mid-lap to recharge their batteries, even during qualifying, creating dangerous speed differentials that culminated in Oliver Bearman's terrifying 50G crash at Suzuka.
The April meetings are F1's attempt to fix this before it gets worse. If changes are agreed, Miami becomes the first test of a revised formula. If not, drivers keep racing a car most of them openly hate.
Either way, Miami just became one of the most important race weekends in years.
Buckle up!
